See for yourself, how CBD works

Why CBD?

Many people are seeking alternatives to pharmaceuticals with harsh side effects –
medicine more in synch with natural processes. By tapping into how we function biologically on a deep level, CBD can provide relief for

chronic pain
and many other conditions.

Current research suggests that CBD has powerful pharmacological effects.

Many scientists and researchers know that CBD has beneficial anti-inflammatory properties. It works by blocking certain enzymes that trigger inflammation in the body.

The endocannabinoid system (ECS)

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a biochemical communication system in the human body, which plays a crucial role

in regulating our physiology, mood, and everyday experience.

You can’t see it or feel it, but inflammation may slowly be damaging your body. Inflammation (swelling), which is part of the body’s natural healing system, helps fight injury and infection.

Why reducing inflammation is important?

Inflammation is a defense mechanism and it is beneficial – inflammation protects our bodies from infection and injury.

However, excessive inflammation can lead to collateral damage, and that’s why we use medicines to reduce it.

CBD (cannabidiol) oil is quickly becoming the go-to solution for those suffering from chronic pain due to inflammation.

Diet and lifestyle changes can help prevent chronic inflammation.

What is CBD?

CBD (Cannabidiol):

Cannabidiol, abbreviated as CBD, is one of dozens of molecules found in the cannabis plant known as cannabinoids. CBD, in particular, has grown in popularity in recent years due to the belief that it provides medical benefits for patients suffering from a variety of ailments such as insomnia, stress, pain, arthritis, and others. CBD, unlike THC, does not have psychoactive properties, which means that people can use it for its medical benefits without feeling “high.” CBD is most commonly administered to users in the form of oils, topical products, and tinctures.

CBD oil is created by extracting CBD from hemp or marijuana plants.

Both are members of the cannabis family. It is important in the regulation of the endocannabinoid system*, which is the system in your body that uses cannabinoids produced by the body (such as anandamide).

Many people are looking for alternatives to pharmaceuticals that have severe side effects – medicine that is more in tune with natural processes.

CBD may be able to provide relief for chronic pain, anxiety, inflammation, depression, and other conditions by tapping into how we function biologically on a deep level.

  • No!
  • CBD is 100% non-psychoactive, meaning it doesn’t negatively impact your mind or mental processes.
  • In other words, CBD does not get you ‘high,’ or stoned, or any other term you care to use.
  • There is no mental fog or haziness caused by CBD – seriously, none whatsoever

Endocannabinoid System (ECS):

A group of receptors found throughout the human brain, body, and central and peripheral nervous systems that form a highly complex regulatory system. By adjusting the flow of neurotransmitters and regulating bodily functions such as appetite, sleep, emotion, and movement, the ECS creates and maintains our body’s internal stability (homeostasis).

About our CBD products

Nabinoi use a combination of Grapeseed and Cannabis sativa seed oil as carrier oil in our CBD Oil products/tinctures. Grapeseed oil is by nature rich in Vitamin E and contains natural anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and neuroprotective properties. Cannabis sativa seed oil is an excellent source of Omega 3 & 6 essential fatty acids and Vitamin D.

Nabinoi CBD oil can be taken sublingually (under the tongue) or topically (onto the skin) applied on aching joints or skin ailments.

Our product is NOT suitable or intended for vaping or smoking.

If you are on chronic medication, especially for low blood pressure or if you use beta-blockers it is best to consult your doctor when you want to start using CBD oil as an alternative to your prescription medication.

It is especially important for those who are pregnant, nursing, chronically ill, elderly or under the age of 18 to discuss the use of these products with a physician prior to consuming.

While we are unable to offer any medical advice for specific ailments due to legal reasons, we can point you in the right direction so you can do your own research or find a health practitioner with the knowledge and experience you require.

Is CBD Legal in

South Africa

CBD products are now legal in South Africa as in many other countries in the world, but there are limitations on the market imposed by the Department of Health.

  • As long as it contains a maximum daily dose of 20 milligrams of CBD and no more than 0.001% of THC (That’s the stuff that make you high)
  • Second, CBD products can’t claim to cure or treat any specific condition. They can only advertise broadly about general health enhancement or promise to relieve minor symptoms.

On the 8th of May 2020 Health Minister Zwele Mkhize signed into law the new scheduling status for certain Cannabidiol (CBD) containing products. This wagazetted on the 22nd of May seven days after the previous 12-month exemption period for certain CBD products lapsed.

CBD under certain conditions is no longer excluded from the medicines schedules as per the previous year’s framework, and is now a Schedule 0 (zero) human medicine under Category D – Complementary Medicine.
